The Mokena PTA’ s mission is to support and speak on behalf of children and youth in schools, in the community and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children, and to encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of our nation. The goal of the PTA Legislative chair is to inform the local PTA as to local, district, state and national legislative issues of importance to children; to motivate members to take action on issues of importance to children; to communicate to the IL PTA any concerns or requests from the local PTA; and to advocate to local, state and federal legislative decision-makers on issues of importance to children.
We are looking for parents, teachers and community members that align with our mission to join the Mokena PTA. Please visit the site below to become a member of our PTA. Dear District 159 Families,
The Parent Teacher Association welcomes you to a new upcoming school year! We have a wonderful community in District 159, and we are looking forward to a great year filled with fantastic events at all three schools: Mokena Elementary, Mokena Intermediate and Mokena Junior High.
Our goal in the 2023-2024 academic year is to is to raise membership by 25%. Membership is open to all parents, teachers, and community members. Membership dues go directly to the towards financing events held in the three schools. We encourage all parents to consider being a part of the Mokena PTA. Please consider that $5 of your membership cost goes to fees and the rest funds events and fun for your children.
There are a lot of ways that you can volunteer throughout the year depending on your time commitment and interest in events or PTA sponsored events. There is something for everyone, please come join us!
